Dill & Garlic Chèvre

"Chèvre" is French for goat's cheese! This week's featured cheese is a fresh goat cheese with a soft, creamy texture and mild tangy taste.

Made on the family farm of Sam and Susie Byler, who live along the Clarion River in Emlenton, Pennsylvania, this variety of "chèvre" has been rolled in fresh garlic and dill seeds.

Goat cheese softens when exposed to heat, although it does not melt in the same way as many cow's milk cheeses. The special properties of our Dill & Garlic Chèvre make it a perfect cheese for quiches or stuffing into ravioli. If you prefer to enjoy your chèvre as a cool and creamy treat, try it mixed into a summer squash salad or spread onto fresh bread for an out-of-this-world cucumber sandwich!

At Family Farm Creameries, we also carry River View Dairy's plain chèvre, along with five other varieties: Onion & Chive, Chipotle, Cranberry & Almond, French Herb and Sun-Dried Tomato Basil.
