Saturn Baby Swiss


Like other cheeses produced on the Klipfer farm at Milky Way Meadows in Townville, Pennsylvania, "Saturn Baby Swiss" is named after a celestial body and was lovingly allowed to age in their farmstead cellar for over a year.

Don't let the "baby" part fool you! "Saturn Baby Swiss" is among the sharpest cheeses that we carry here at Family Farm Creameries. In this case, "baby" refers merely to the size of "eyes" (holes) in this cheese. A balanced combination of bacteria and time enabled the development of this cheese's small eyes, it's sharp, picquant flavor and firm texture.

Milky Way Meadows cheeses are special for many reasons, two being milk quality and time. The milk used in these cheeses comes from the Klipfer family's 100% grassfed cows and each cheese is generally aged for one year. As you might imagine, it can be rare for small-scale cheese producers to want to hold their product in the cellar - away from customers - for over a year, but the Klipfer family knows what it takes to create flavorful, artisinal cheeses of the highest quality.
