Mars Marble Hot Pepper

"Mars Marble Hot Pepper" is a perfectly balanced cow's milk cheese from Milky Way Meadows of Townville, Pennsylvania. It breaks apart a bit when you slice it, but it's not too crumbly. It's the kind of breakage you'd expect in a cheese that's been aged well over a year. On top of its slicable-yet-well-aged texture, its got a pleasantly sharp flavor profile and just a hint of heat.

I hate to admit it, but I sometimes forget just how much I love this cheese!

At its core, "Mars Marble Hot Pepper" is a colby/jack-style cheese. The two base curds, varying slightly in color and taste, are pressed together to form Milky Way's original "Mars Marble" - and this is the hot pepper version. The red peppers are hot, but not super hot. If you're looking for real heat, maybe try another of our hot pepper cheese varietyes, i.e. "Frew Mill Fire" from Pasture Maid Creamery. The trade-off with "Frew Mill Fire" is younger, milder cheese for hotter peppers.

As with all of the cheeses from Milky Way Meadows, be sure to peel of the thin wax rind before enjoying - although it is an edible food-grade wax if you forget!
